Why is my crocheting rippling?

I started crocheting in January and a lot of my pieces are turning out wrinkled when I increase. I'm following the pattern exactly but everything is turning out rippled. I've tried increasing a little less but the only time they don't ripple is when I don't increase at all, any tips? Thanks!
