What does it mean when a bracelet has "925" stamped on it?

I just found this gold coloured bracelet that I got from a friend a while back, it has 925 stamped in it and I was wondering if it had something to do with the value or what it's made of. Also there's tiny clear gemstones in it... Any info on it would be awesome(:
