Curious if I can find gemstones/silver/gold in Oakland County, Michigan. If so, where?

I am looking for gemstones (NO PETOSKY/CORAL). I have lived her for sometime now and have always wanted to search for gemstones/minerals (ie. Gold/Silver/Periodot/Golden Barrel/etc). Does anyone know if there are any gemstones or minerals here? I am ONLY interested in Oakland County (In south-east Michigan). I do not care about the Great Lakes or Upper Peninsula.
